The Mythology of Nyi Roro Kidul

Long time ago, there was a beautiful princess, named Kadita, whom is the only daughter of King Munding Wangi. The King actually wanted a son for a long time, but finally he got a son from his new wife, named Dewi Mutiara. Dewi Mutiara was not a kind person; also, she wanted to make Kadita gone from the kingdom, so she casted a powerful spell of curse at Kadita. Accordingly, Kadita got scab and pus on all over her skin. The King finally decided to exile Kadita because the king did not want everybody to know about her condition. However, Kadita is a kind person as she did not want any revenge or punishment for anyone. Kadita walked through many lands and finally arrived at the Southern Beach. When Kadita viewed at the sea, she heard someone’s voice which demanded her to fling her body to the sea. Kadita agreed and decided to fling herself into the sea. As her body touched the sea, the scab and pus were gone, and Kadita became beautiful again. Also, she gained the power to rule the south ocean for the rest of her life.
